• What is SSD Hosting?

  SSD hosting is a web hosting service that uses servers which run solid-state drives (SSD) rather than the standard hard disk drives (HDD). SSDs provide much higher input/output (I/O) speeds compared to traditional HDDs. This means that SSDs can read and write data much faster, which greatly boosts the speed at which data is accessed from your website and databases. By using SSD hosting, you'll see an enormous jump in your website's performance, especially if you are using PHP scripts and databases.

• How much faster is SSD Hosting?

  SSD hosting is significantly faster than traditional hosting due to the huge difference in I/O speeds.

  An SSD is similar to a USB memory stick where all of its data are stored in microchips. This means that it can access any of its data instantly regardless of which chip the data is stored on. Meanwhile, an HDD uses a mechanical arm to read and write its data, similar to a record player. As you can imagine, an HDD will read and write data a lot slower since it needs to move its mechanical arm around all the time. It gets much worse when the data is stored at random locations on the disk.

  This is why high-end server HDDs have random access times that are no faster than 2.9 milliseconds, whereas SSDs typically have random access times of under 0.1 milliseconds. So on average, SSDs will access data 30 times faster than traditional HDDs. You'll see significant improvements in your website's performance if you're running a lot of scripts or if your website needs to frequently access your databases.

• Why don't you provide unlimited storage space on your SSD Hosting?

  While SSDs access data much faster than traditional HDDs, they have a much lower storage capacity. This is why we aren't able to provide unlimited storage space on our SSD hosting plan. However, the 100GB storage limit that we've set should be more than enough for most websites.

• Will my emails also be stored on SSD's?

  Yes. Basically, your entire cPanel control panel will be installed on our SSD drives so all of your website content and email data will be stored there as well.

• Are you really using SSD's on your servers?

  Yes, all of the hard drives in our SSD hosting server configuration are SSDs.

  Other web hosting service providers might use SSDs for just a part of their server configuration and brand it as an SSD hosting service. Although this type of configuration will be slightly faster than a traditional server setup, it can't match the performance that our pure SSD configuration offers.

• Are SSD's reliable?

  To maximize hardware reliability, we've utilized enterprise level SSDs, which are much more reliable than standard off-the-shelf SSD products. Also, we've setup a RAID configuration for our servers to provide enhanced reliability and redundancy.
