Set Up: Uploading web files to a subdomain in cPanel

All web files need to be uploaded to the Document Root directory created during the creation of the subdomain.

A document root directory is automatically created in the public_html directory and can be accessed using File Manager in cPanel or FTP.

Uploading web files to a subdomain using FTP:

1. Open your FTP client and connect to your hosting account using your FTP username and password.
2. Once you’re connected to the server, navigate to the public_html directory.
3. Within the public_html directory, you will find the folder named after your subdomain. The path to this directory should be public_html/subdomain_name.

   All web files need to be uploaded to this directory in order to be displayed on the subdomain.

Uploading web files to a subdomain using File Manager in cPanel:

1. In cPanel, under Files, click File Manager.
2. On the File Manager interface, double-click on the public_html folder.
3. Find the subdomain from the list of available folders. Double-click to open it the subdomain folder.
4. You can proceed with uploading your web files to the subdomain folder using the Upload function.

NOTE: If the subdomain is created using an addon domain, the subdomain’s document root will be created inside the root director of the addon domain, for example:

public_html/addon_domain_root/subdomain_root
