Setting up Dreamweaver

Adobe Dreamweaver is a powerful WYSIWYG website development tool which is supported by all Doteasy hosting services. It offer an intuitive environment for building cross-platform sites that generates HTML code neatly and efficiently.

This tutorial will guide you through the first steps of configuring Dreamweaver to connect to your Doteasy server and using Dreamweaver to upload your files to the server. To follow this tutorial you will need to have your Doteasy Member ID and password, a copy of Adobe Dreamweaver installed on your computer and an internet connection.

I. Dreamweaver Publishing Tutorial
Recommended Software: Dreamweaver

Start Dreamweaver and select "New Site..." in the "Site" menu.

In the Site Definition window, enter your site name.
For Local Site Folder, you can click the folder icon and browse to the folder which contains your website files on your computer.
Click Save

While you are on the same panel, click on "Servers".

Click on the "+" icon to add your new FTP server infomation.

You can start entering your server info on this panel. For your FTP information, please see the next step.

Server Name: Anything you want, you can simply put your website name

FTP address: ftp.yourdomain.com
Username: Your FTP username, you can locate this information in your Doteasy member zone
Password: Your Doteasy password
Root Directory: /public_html/
Web URL: http://www.yourdomain.com


Click "Save"

You are now all set.
