Xoops: version 2.0.10 RC2
XOOPS is a program that allows administrators to easily create dynamic websites with great content and many outstanding features. It is an ideal tool for developing small to large dynamic community websites, intra company portals, corporate portals, weblogs and much more.
Installation Procedure

The script can be downloaded from here.

The file that you will download is saved in .zip format; this is a compressed bundle containing the files in the distribution. Unzip this archive in a temporary directory on your computer using decompression software.

Start your FTP software and upload all content from /html directory to your web server preserving the file structure.
Note: If you want Xoops to handle the homepage of your site, upload the contents to your website root (/var/www/html/)
Let's assume you install the contents of the Xoops folder to /var/www/html/
URL: http://www.mywebsite.com

Once the files are copied there, you can start the install by typing http://www.mywebsite.com. This will start the install process.


After performing the above procedures, you will be ready to continue installing XOOPS 2 with the Install Wizard. The first screen in the install Wizard takes you to will be the welcome screen.


The next part of the install Wizard is designed to check your file and directory permissions. Click the Next button to continue on to the next screen.


The next part of the Wizard is for writing the settings to the mainfile.php file.
Please use "127.0.0.1" for the Database Hostname.


Create your Super Administrator account by completing the form. All fields must be completed.
The General Settings screen is self explanatory so, input the required information into the files and click next.
The next four Wizard screens are informational displaying the settings from the General Settings screen for your confirmation and to show that the values were written correctly.





The next Wizard screen is will be to show the progress for accessing the database.


After clicking next a couple of times, you will come to an informational screen showing the results of table creation.


The next Wizard screen is for inputting site administrative information..

The next screen is informational. If all the lights are green, click Next to continue.

Congratulations, the installation of Xoops is now complete. You can check the site out by clicking the "HERE" text on the last screen. If all went well, then your new site should be up and running.
