Doteasy Website Creator - Advanced Mode

Advanced Mode allows you to build and customize your own website prior to publishing onto the Internet.

The time required to complete the Simple Mode, from design to publish is approximately 30 minutes.

I. Activate Website Creator

Login to your Member Zone at https://member.doteasy.com.

Under the Web Tools section, select Create Doteasy Website Creator Account (Free!).

You will be taken to the Design Website greeting page of your Doteasy Website Creator.

Click on the Advanced Mode option.

If this is your first time using Doteasy Website Creator,we recommend that you take the time to view the flash demo before proceeding.

II. Choosing a Page Design

Select a page design from one of the categories available.

Doteasy Website Creator will prepare your website using the page design you have chosen.

III. Page Setup

The initial page setup includes four (4) pages. You can add additional pages after your page setup is completed.

To create less than 4 pages, simply leave the unused input boxes blank.

Enter the names of your web pages.

Click on the Save button when you are ready.

IV. Edit Page Header - Layout

Doteasy Website Creator allows you to edit your page header content, layout and properties. The header layout determines whether or not your header will display the G-Text, image(s) and header text.

Click on the Edit Header button.

Click on the Edit Header Layout tab.

Select the desired header layout.

Check the Apply this layout to all web pages' header option if you wish to use the same header layout for all your webpages.

Click on the Save button when you are finished.

V. Edit Page Header - Properties

This section allows you to change your header properties, such as font, hyperlink color, background color and image.

Click on the Edit Header button.

Click on the Edit Header Properties tab.

Background Color. You can enter in the HEX color code, or you can use the Color Picker to select your headers background color.

Background Image. Click on the Click to change image box if you want to add a background image to your header. This will open your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Font. Here, you can change the font color, type, size, weight and style.

Link. Here, you can change the color of your header hyperlinks

Check the Apply this properties to all web pages' header option if you wish to use the same header properties for all your webpages.

Click on the Save button when you are finished.

V. Edit Page Header - Content

This section allows you to change the header content, which includes elements like text, image and G-Text.
Whether you have these elements in your header content depends on the header layout you are using.

Click on the Edit Header button.

Click on the Edit Header Content tab.

Change the G-Text, image, and text as shown in the steps in the next sections.

Check the Apply this content to all web pages' header option if you wish to use the same header content for all your webpages.

Click on the Save button when you are finished.

VI. Edit Header Content - G-Text

The G-Text is found at the header of your web page. It is an image composed of your input messages and part of the background header image. The G-Text logo is generated by your Doteasy Website Creator dynamically. With this capability, you can freely create your own company logo or a customized image with your own company name as a slogan.

Click on the Edit Header button.

Click on the Edit Header Content tab.

Click on the Click to change text box

Enter your text in the box and click on the Done button when you are finished.

VI. Edit Header Content - Images

Click on the Edit Header button.

Click on the Edit Header Content tab.

Click on the Click to change image box. This will open your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Select your image from the available categories.

If you want to use your own images, click on the Upload Image button.

Your maximum image storage space is 9.8MB. Click on the Browse button to locate the image file on your computer. Provide a folder name for the image. Once your image has been uploaded, Doteasy Website Creator will create a new category, called My Folder. Your image will be stored there, under the folder name you have entered.

Once you are ready, click on the Upload button.

Click on the image you want to display on the page.

VII. Edit Header Content - Text

Use the text editor to change your header text

You can change the font, font size, font style, alignment, color and more.

VIII. How to Create a Common Header for all Pages

In each of the Edit Header Content, Edit Header Layout, and Edit Header Properties sections, you will find the checkbox above the Save button to apply the changes to all of the header for your web pages. Check the checkbox.

Then, click on the Save button.

Your web pages will now have a common header.

Note: If you want to have a different header for each of your web pages, do not select the checkbox.

IX. Edit Body Layout

Doteasy Website Creator allows you to edit your page body, including the text, image and web tools/scripts.

Your page's body layout determines what elements will be displaye on your page.

Click on the Edit Body button.

Click on the Edit Body Layout tab.

Select the desired body layout.

When you are finished, click on the Save button.

X. Edit Body Properties

This section allows you to make changes on your pages Body Properties, such as the background image, background color, font, and the hyperlink color.

Note: Some pre-built templates do not support the changing of the body background color or background image.

Click on the Edit Body button.

Click on the Edit Body Properties tab.

Background Color. You can change the page's body color by entering in the HEX color code, or using the Color Picker.

Background Image. If you wish to use a background image for your page's body, click on the Click to change image button. This will open your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Font. You can change the font color, type, size, weight and style.

Link. You can change the color of the hyperlinks on your page.

When you are finished, click on the Save button.

XI. Edit Body Content - Text

This section allows you to change the pages body content, such as text, image and web tool/scripts. Whether these elements are displayed depends on the body layout you have chosen.

Click on the Edit Body button.

Click on the Edit Body Content tab.

Enter your body text into the text editor.

You can change the font type, size, weight, style, color, indentation, and more using the text editor.

When you are finished editing the page, click on the Save button.

XII. Edit Body Content - Image

Click on the Edit Body button.

Click on the Edit Body Content tab.

Click on the Click to change image box. This will open the Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

If you want to use your own image(s), you will need to upload the image(s) to your image gallery. Click on the Upload Image button.

Your maximum image storage space is 9.8MB. Click on the Browse button to locate the image file on your computer. Provide a folder name for the image. Upon upload, Doteasy Website Creator will create a new category, called My Folders, and your image will be stored there, under the folder name you have entered.

Once you are ready, click on the Upload button.

Click on the image you want to display on the page.

When you are finished editing the page, click on the Save button.

XIII. Edit Body Content - Custom Scripts

To add or edit a Doteasy Web Tools script or a custom script, you will need to use the Web Tools option.

Click on the Edit Body button.

Click on the Edit Body Content tab.

Click on the Click to add custom script box. This will open the Web Tools page.

Click on the Custom Scripts icon.

Click on the Add New Items link.

Copy-and-paste your Doteasy Web Tools script or a custom Javascript-based script into the text box.

Click Save to upload the script to your Custom Scripts Library.

Click on the Insert button to add the script to your page.

When you are finished editing the page, click on the Save button.

XIV. How to Manipulate Content in a Multi-Row Layout

This tutorial assumes you are using a multi-row page body layout.

Click on the Edit Body button.

Click on the Edit Body Content tab.

Using the text editor, enter the text you want to display on the page. You can use the text editor toolbar to change the font style, size, etc.

To add additonal row(s), click on the Add Body Row button

Enter the new text into the text editor.

If you want to display an image for this new row, click on the Click to change image box. This will open your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Repeat steps , and as needed.

When you are ready, click on the Save button.

XV. Edit Sidebar Properties

This section shows you how to make changes to your Sidebar Properties, such as hyperlink color, background and border color of the sidebar item(s).

Click on the Edit Sidebar button.

Click on the Edit Sidebar Properties tab.

Background Color. You can change the page's sidebar background color by entering the HEX color color, or using the Color Picker.

Background Image. If you wish to use a background image for your pages body, click on the Click to change image button. This will open your Doteasy Website Create Image Library.

Font. can change the font color, type, size, weight and style.

Link. You can change the color of the hyperlinks.

Item. You can change the background and/or border color of your sidebar items.

When you are ready, click on the Save button.

XvI. Edit Sidebar Items - Text

Click on the Edit Sidebar button.

Click on the Edit Sidebar Items tab.

Click on the Add New Text Item button.

Enter the title of the sidebar text item. You can use the text editor to change the font color, type, size, weight, style and more.

Enter the content of the sidebar text item. You can use the text editor to change the font color, type, size, weight, style and more.

When you are ready, click on the Save button.

XvII. Edit Sidebar Items - Image

Click on the Edit Sidebar button.

Click on the Edit Sidebar Items tab.

Click on the Add New Image button.

Enter the title of the sidebar image item. You can use the text editor to change the font color, type, size, weight, style and more.

Click on the Click to change image box to add the image to your sidebar. This will open your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Enter an image item caption in the textbox. If you do not wish to include an image caption, simply leave this textbox blank.

When you are ready, click on the Save button.

XvIII. Edit Sidebar Items - Custom Scripts

Click on the Edit Sidebar button.

Click on the Edit Sidebar Items tab.

Click on the Add New Web Tool button.

Click on the Click to add custom script box.

Click on the Custom Scripts icon.

Click on the Add New Items link.

Copy-&-paste the Doteasy Web Tools or any Javascript-based script into the text box.

Click Save to upload the script to your Custom Scripts Library.

Click on the Insert button to add the script to your page.

When you are ready, click on the Save button.

XIX. Edit Footer Layout

You can make changes to your page's footer elements, such as text and image.

The display of these elements depends on the Footer Layout you are using.

Click on the Edit Footer button.

Click on the Edit Edit Footer Layout tab.

Select the desired Footer Layout.

Check the Apply this layout to all web pages' footer if you wish to use the same footer layout for all your web pages.

When you are ready, click on the Save button.

XX. Edit Footer Properties

Click on the Edit Footer button.

Click on the Edit Edit Footer Properties tab.

Background Color. You can change the page's footer color by entering in the HEX color code, or using the Color Picker.

XXI. Edit Footer Content

This section allows you to change the footer content, which includes elements like text and images.

Whether your footer displays these elements depends on the Footer Layout you are using.

Click on the Edit Footer button.

Click on the Edit Edit Footer Content tab.

Enter your footer text in the text box. You can use the text editor to change the font color, type, weight, size, style and more.

If you wish to include an image in your page's footer (and your footer layout allows images), click on the Click to change image button. This will take you to your Doteasy Website Creator Image Gallery.

Check the Apply this content to all web pages' footer if you wish to use the same footer layout for all your web pages.

When you are ready, click on the Save button.

XXII. How to Create a Common Footer for all Pages

In each of the Edit Footer Content, Edit Footer Layout, and Edit Footer Properties sections, you will see a checkbox about the Save button to apply the changes to all of the footers of your web pages. Check this checkbox to have all your web pages use the same footer.

Click on the Save button when you are ready.

XXIII. How to Select an Image from the Image Library

This tutorial assumes you are already in your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Click on any Click to add image box in your Doteasy Website Creator will take you to your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Go through the available categories to find the image you wish to use.

Once you have found the image you wish to use, click on it. This will close the Doteasy Website Creator Image Library. The image will be inserted into the section of your webpage you were working on.

XXIV. How to Create an Image Folder

This tutorial assumes you are already in your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Click on any Click to add image box in your Doteasy Website Creator will take you to your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Click on the Create Folder button

Enter the new folder name.

Click on the Add button.

You will be redirected to a Create Folder confirmation page. You will see the new folder created under the category, My Folders.

XXV. How to Delete an Image Folder

This tutorial assumes you are already in your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Click on any Click to add image box in your Doteasy Website Creator will take you to your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Click on the Delete Folder button

You will see a list of the folders you ahve created. Select the checkbox next to the folder you wish to delete.

You have the option of moving the images in the soon-to-be-removed folder to another folder. This way, only the folder is removed, and the images in that folder will be relocated.

You also have the option to remove the folder as well as images that are in that folder.

Click on the Delete Selected button.

Click on the Yes button to confirm the folder removal.

You will be redirected to a Delete Folder confirmation page.

XXVI. How to Upload an Image

This tutorial assumes you are already in your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Click on any Click to add image box in your Doteasy Website Creator will take you to your Doteasy Website Creator Image Library.

Click on the Upload Image button

Use the Browse button to locate the image file on your computer.

After you have selected the image, select the folder to where you want to upload the image to.

If your image size is quite large, you may wish to optimize the image. This will ensure your webpage loads faster and conserve the image storage space for your account. Select Yes to optimize the image.

Click on the Upload button when you are ready.

XXVII. How to Add a New Page

Click on the Add Page button

Enter the name of the new page in the text box./p>

When you are ready, click on the Submit button.

Your new page will be added to your list of pages and you can proceed to edit the page as needed.

XXVIII. How to Remove a Page

Click on the Manage Pages button

Click on the Remove Web Page tab./p>

Under the Remove Page? column, select the checkbox for the page that you wish to remove.

Click on the Save button to complete the page removal.

XXIX. How to Set a Default Web Page

Click on the Manage Pages button

Click on the Set Home Page tab./p>

Check the radio button under the Is Home Page? column for the page you wish to set as the defaul home page. The default home page is the first page you see when you view the website.

Click on the Save button when you are ready.

XXX. How to Sort the Pages

Click on the Manage Pages button

Click on the Sort Pages tab./p>

Change the page order numbers under the Page Order column.

Click on the Save button when you are ready.

XXXI. How to Rename a Page

Click on the Manage Pages button

Click on the Rename Web Page tab./p>

Enter the new page name in the textbox under the Page Name column.

Click on the Save button to complete the page rename.

XXXII. Publish Your Website

Your Doteasy Website Creator has a built-in publishing function.

Click on the Publish button

Click on the OK button to confirm site publishing./p>

once your webpages have been published, open your website URL on your web browser to view your new website.
